Independent filmmaking allows us to tell and deeply human stories. The Professor will start an urgently needed discussion about domestic violence and move Senegal along to a more equal society. Like us, you care. And we can make the film only with your support–Thank you! 

Also, most Senegalese (and many African) films are financed by foreign TV money and grants. In return, the foreigners dictate the stories we can tell about ourselves and occupy most positions of power in a film production.

Cash Budget: $300,000

Production Costs –  Senegalese cast and crew! Shot at a real location in Senegal, and creating a highly entertaining, gripping, and visually striking film. 

Cinematography & Equipment – High-quality cameras, lighting, and sound equipment–everything has to look great.

Post-Production – Editing, sound design, and color grading. 

Festival Submissions & Distribution – So the Professor will reach audiences in Senegal and worldwide. 

Fair Compensation – Supporting local artists, technicians, and crew members is a priority. This is not just about making a film—it’s about strengthening the creative industry in Senegal.
